Below please find our course syllabus and some resources that may help you with the readings in our seminar.
Unfortunately, Christopher Collins’ Paleopoetics has not been translated into Spanish. Gilles Deleuze & Félix Guattari’s A Thousand Plateaus (Mil mesetas) is on reserve in the library. I include a pdf below, and one for our Latour’s Reassembling the Social translated into Spanish. I also include a link to a Spanish text outlining the philosophy of Deleuze that may be helpful.
The version of Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass we are studying is his 1860 edition. Many Whitman scholars, myself included, consider the 1860 Leaves of Grass the most powerful of Whitman’s various editions. Whitman added and deleted sections of Leaves of Grass throughout his life, so the poems are not in a stable or complete grouping when you consult other translations. Where possible I link to options in the syllabus so you can find a Spanish translation of the poem.
Do the best you can to prepare these readings; they are challenging in any language, but I will try to clarify the most salient and useful concepts in class discussion. And please feel free to ask questions about concepts you don’t quite understand!
